Padulella, Costa Verde seaside resort

The municipality of San Nicolao is located in the heart of the Costa Verde, on the eastern part of Corsica, 40km south of the port of Bastia, 35km from Bastia-Poretta airport, on territorial road 10 (ex national 198 ).

Its renowned seaside resort Moriani-Plage (Padullela) is on the Tyrrhenian Sea, between the islands of Elba and Monte Cristo, facing Italy. Sheltered from prevailing winds, the resort enjoys sunshine and an ideal climate for holidays in Corsica. Prized since the 1930s by the Bastiaise population, and today by tourists from all over Europe, the seaside resort has not stopped growing its tourist offers. It is the ideal starting point to visit Haute-Corse and have fun. It brings together all the shops and services necessary for a good tourist stay:

Moriani-Plage is a seaside resort with many charms and different tourist attractions which have managed to attract a family audience.

The beautiful sandy beach with turquoise water of Moriani-Plage is the main attraction of the resort. Between lazing around, swimming and various nautical or entertaining activities, fun is always there in this city of the Costa Verde. A nautical base allows the practice of wakeboarding, windsurfing, catamaran or even towed buoy.


Small and popular family seaside resort, Moriani-Plage also offers some events and other activities that attract tourists.

  • The Moriani-Plage market takes place every Tuesday morning, allowing you to buy works of local crafts or culinary specialties of the region, all in a good mood and the joie de vivre of visiting traders.

  • On July 14, fireworks are fired from Moriani beach and a popular ball is organized to liven up the evening

  • In early August, place at the Padul'Ella-Moriani Festival, a 100% feminine festival. The opportunity to attend fiery concerts presented only by female artists and to enjoy many stalls of female artisans in the region.


Between Folleli and Aléria, Moriani-plage has always been a center of historic life. Its ideal location allows it to stay lively throughout the year. The proximity of the Haute Corse regional park and its natural reserve will give rise to beautiful walks: Forests, woods and lakes where you will discover an astonishing variety of flora and fauna.


Hiking enthusiasts will appreciate the Mare a Mare North trail, which links Moriani-Plage to Cargèse, located on the west coast of Corsica.

From the beach, it is possible to observe the ruined Genoese tower of Moriani, a vestige of the old hamlet located here formerly, Padulella. Not far away, the Genoese bridge marks the limit with the town of Santa-Maria-Poggio, reminiscent of the Pisan period, while the Roman aqueduct, used until the 19th century to convey water to the forge, is a vestige from the Roman era in this part of Corsica.

While strolling around Moriani-Plage, you can admire traditional houses of the region, in shale stone and slate, some of which date from the 16th century.
